The Hill-Side Blue Jeans are hand-made in Okayama, Japan at a small, highly regarded factory using The Hill-Side Mills custom selvedge denim, woven on 1930s Toyoda shuttle looms at a tiny, under-the-radar denim mill a short drive from the sewing factory.

Our stonewashed jeans are inspired by a memorable trend in skateboarding from our high school years. In the mid 1990s, seemingly overnight, light colored jeans (usually with a simple white t-shirt) became almost a uniform in skateboarding, especially among the west coast skaters we idolized in videos and magazines.
